Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Marcia Myers is a painter of large-scale non-objective works. She was educated at The Philadelphia College of Art, Syracuse University at Florence, Italy, BA Hood College, MFA George Washington University.

Myers employs the traditional fresco technique, using historical pigment ground at sites throughout Italy, to explore color, light and surface in her paintings.

According to the artist, "[My paintings are] illusionistic in their resemblance to ancient wall surfaces ... [but] in the end are abstract painting at its most essential. They are about paint and painting."
